Navy places a high importance on training. The ability for a sailor to make quick, correct decisions during a naval engagement is paramount to the collective success of the ship to achieve its mission. In Navy’s words “We need to train the way we fight, because we will fight the way we train”.
It is widely accepted that one of the most cost-effective methods to train sailors both individually and collectively for their roles on board a Navy ship is through simulation. By exposing sailors to a virtual ship environment, they become spatially aware of the layout of the ship they are about to join, while undertaking contextual, interactive training. Further, by providing sailors with direct access to equipment specific engineering data, operational procedures, training material and logistics management data, they will increase their effectiveness to perform their duties successfully.
REFINE delivers such an environment.
